Let's be honest, no one enjoys regular hair removal methods such as shaving or waxing. Laser hair removal is a quick, proven method to permanently reduce hair growth for both men and women. A course of around 6 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart will permanently reduce hair growth and is suitable for most areas of the face and body. Our Duetto MT Evo is the world's first mixed technology laser which combines two 'Gold Standard' lasers in one for superior hair removal treatment results on all hair and skin types.

We use the world’s only ‘Mixed Technology’ laser: The DUETTO MT from Lynton Lasers. This award-winning device combines two ‘Gold Standard’ lasers in one unique platform for superior hair removal treatment results on ALL hair and skin types. It uses an Alexandrite laser (regarded the best laser for lighter skins) and Nd:YAG laser (the safest laser for darker skins), BUT with this unique technology, we can mix the two lasers together for even better results. The DUETTO MT is the only laser in the world that can operate like this and provides you with the best opportunity to achieve the hair removal results you wish for.

How does it work?

The Duetto MT Evo combines an Alexandrite (755nm) laser (regarded the best laser for lighter skins) and a Nd:YAG (1064nm) laser (the safest laser for darker skins). With this unique technology, we can mix the two lasers together for superior results. Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles, anagen (growth stage), catagen (resting stage) and telagen (shedding stage). We can only destroy follicles in the anagen stage and so several treatments are needed to destroy all follicles in any particular area. Typically around 6 treatments are needed for a good result.

Where can be treated?

Pretty much any area of the body can be treated apart from the inside of your ears, nostrils and the area within the orbit of the eye.

Who cannot be treated?

If you are under 18 years old, taking roaccutane (isotretinoine), pregnant, breastfeeding, on any medications that cause light sensitivity or undergoing cancer treatment then we cannot treat you.

Can you treat all skin colours and hair types?

Almost every hair and skin type can be treated. However, grey/white hair has no melanin so it is not suitable for the treatment.

How long does it take?

Treatments typically take between 10 and 60 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated.

Does it hurt?

Treatment sensation varies but it is often described as a flick of an elastic band. No anaesthetic is required and most clients describe the discomfort as moderate and tolerable.

What are the side effects?

Following treatment the area may be red and the hair follicles may be swollen, but this usually subsides within a few hours. Adverse reactions are very rare but may include blistering or a tempory lightening or darkening of the skin.

Laser vs IPL

We often refer to permanent hair reduction as laser hair removal when actually most clinics use IPL rather than laser. Both Laser and IPL destroy the hair follicle by a process called selective photothermolysis. Whether laser or IPL the light that is delivered to the target (hair) will deliver sufficient energy to destroy the hair follicle.

Which is better, laser or IPL?

We use the Duetto MT Evo laser which can be used to treat nearly all hair and skin types, unlike IPL which cannot be used to treat light hair or darker skin tones. It is also more precise than IPL, so the heat is directed at the hair follicle and not the skin which means faster and more effective results.
