CRYOTHERAPY LESION REMOVAL

Removal of skin tags, warts, moles & pigmented lesions

For quite a while the NHS haven't covered the removal of benign lesions such as warts,, verrucae, moles, skin tags, milia, solar lentigines (sun spots), seborrheic keratosis, cherry angioma and most types of pigmented lesions. At LA Perfection, we offer cryotherapy and various laser treatments to to completely remove most unwanted skin lesions. At your free consultation, your skin specialist will assess your skin and select the best method for your skin lesion, for the quickest and most effective treatment.

WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY?

Cryotherapy is a safe and highly effective method of removing benign lesions such as skin tags, warts, milia, moles and seborrheic keratosis (sunspots). We use highly pressured liquid nitrous oxides to quickly destroy the affected lesion with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. The treatment is quick and effective, requiring little aftercare, making it a very popular treatment to remove unwanted lesions - no longer covered by the NHS. After the treatment, your warts, skin tags or other lesions will scab over and fall off within one to two weeks. At LA Perfection we use the CryoPen Cryosurgical System, which is the most advanced, state-of-the-art technology in the field of cryosurgery.

HOW IT WORKS

The treatment takes less than a minute per lesion. After a thorough consultation, one of our highly trained skin specialist, will use the industry leading, medical grade, CryoPen to treat your lesion. The medical grade device will emit a very fine, targeted jet of nitrous oxide - directly to the affected skin lesion. The tissue is destroyed by freezing the inter-cellular fluid with the formation of ice crystals, which leads to rupture of the cell membrane. There may be some slight swelling, redness, or even a blister in the surrounding tissue. This can last from a few hours to a few days. The lesion will then exfoliate away over the next week or two. You may require further treatments depending on the lesion.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

At LA Perfection we use the award winning CryoPen system. CryoPen is the leading cryosurgical innovator, making the most accurate and effective device to safely remove benign lesions. The CryoPen uses a state-of-the-art, linear compression cooling technology that does not require handling of dangerous cryogenic gases and liquids.

The medical grade CryoPen emits a very fine targeted jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure, enabling your therapist to work with very fine precision, treating the lesion without damaging the surrounding tissue.

AGE SPOT REMOVAL

Age spots, also known as liver spots or pigmented lesions, are caused by overactive pigment cells. Ultraviolet (UV) light speeds up the production of melanin, a natural pigment that gives skin its colour. On skin that has had years of sun exposure, age spots appear when melanin becomes clumped or is produced in high concentrations. Age spots are usually found on the face or hands.

Skin tags may take 1-3 treatments to completely remove and cost from £50 - £80 per treatment.

WART REMOVAL

These small, noncancerous growths appear when your skin is infected with one of the many viruses of the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. The virus triggers extra cell growth, which makes the outer layer of skin thick and hard in that spot. While they can grow anywhere you have skin, you're more likely to get one on your hands or feet.

WARTS may take 1-3 treatments to completely remove and cost from £50 - £80 per treatment.

SEBORRHEIC KERATOSIS REMOVAL

Seborrheic Keratosis is a noncancerous (benign) skin growth that some people develop as they age. The appearance of seborrheic keratoses vary widely. They may be light tan to brown or black. The most common texture is rough, with a bumpy, grainy surface that crumbles easily. However, they also may be smooth and waxy. While some are tiny, others grow larger than 3 cm in diameter.

FAQs

What is cryotherapy?

Cryotherapy is a procedure that uses extreme cold to destroy tissue. The process is called cryo-necrosis - tissue destruction by freezing.

How is Cryotherapy better than other methods of removing skin lesions?

Cryotherapy requires no anaesthetic and has less scarring than other techniques of skin removal, with minimal post-op care. Treatments are quick and easily integrated into other treatment plans.

How long does it take?

Anything from 30 minutes to 2 hours. It depends on what areas you are having treated.

Howdoes the CryoPen® treatment work?

The applicator is held as close as possible to the skin imperfection and moved quickly towards and away from it. This could be from 1-30 seconds depending on the size and depth. After the first freeze cycle, the tissue can thaw for about 30 seconds. now the second freeze cycle will begin. The tissue will freeze faster than the first freezing cycle.

What will I feel during the treatment?

You can certainly feel the treatment but it is by no means painful or unbearable. You will feel heat and a slight tingling sensation. It is a strange sensation as the treatment is working below the skin and you can feel the ulstrasound. All of our clients happily chat through the whole treament.

Can anyone have Cryotherapy?

Yes but with caution depending on the skin type and location. The treatment may kill the melanacytes around the treated area causing lightening of the skin. People with darker skin may want to consider alternative treatment methods depending on the location and size of the lesion.

How long will results last?

For most  lesions cryotherapy is a permanent removal. Some lesions are harder to remove than others and may take several treatments.

Will the treatment cause a scar?

This does not normally occur. temporary darkening or lightening of the skin may occur but usually only lasts for a few months. Pigment change is more common in darker skin types.

How many treatments will i require?

Most lesions only require one treatment although some larger or deeper lesions may take several treatments for complete removal.

Will activities be limited after treatment?

There are no limitation on activity after treatment except to protect the area from damage, abrasion and sun exposure.

What skin conditions can be treated with CryoPen?

warts,, verrucae, moles, skin tags, milia, solar lentigines (sun spots), seborrheic keratosis, cherry angioma and most types of pigmented lesions.
