WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses concentrated laser tlighto remove unwanted hair. The laser emits a beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. This light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles within the skin that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. It is the perfect option if you are looking for an effective solution for unwanted body or facial hair.
HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?
Laser hair removal works by emitting concentrated light energy that targets melanin (pigment) within the hair follicle. The light converts to heat, safely damaging the follicle and disrupting future hair growth without harming the surrounding skin.
Hair grows in cycles, and laser hair removal is most effective during the active growth phase (anagen). For this reason, a course of treatments is required to achieve optimal permanent hair reduction, leaving skin smoother with finer, slower regrowth over time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MANY LASER HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Hair grows in cycles, anagen (growth stage), catagen (resting stage) and telagen (shedding stage). We can only destroy follicles in the anagen stage and so several treatments are needed to destroy all follicles in any particular area. Typically between 6 and 12 treatments are needed for good results.
DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?
Treatment sensation varies but it is often described as a flick of an elastic band. No anaesthetic is required and most clients describe the discomfort as moderate and tolerable. We use cold air during your treatment for increased comfort.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECT OF LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Following treatment the area may be red and the hair follicles may be swollen, but this usually subsides within a few hours. Adverse reactions are very rare but may include blistering or a tempory lightening or darkening of the skin.
CAN LASER TREAT ALL HAIR COLOURS AND SKIN TONES?
We have an award winning dual wavelength laser that is able to treat all skin tones and all hair colours except from grey or white hair. Grey/white hair has no melanin so it is not suitable for laser treatment.
IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL BETTER THAN IPL?
We use the Duetto MT Evo laser which can be used to treat nearly all hair and skin types, unlike IPL which cannot be used to treat light hair or darker skin tones. It is also more precise than IPL, so the heat is directed at the hair follicle and not the skin which means faster and more effective results.
HOW LONG DOES EACH TREATMENT TAKE?
Treatments typically take between 10 and 60 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated.
