A Pico Laser Toning Facial is perfect if you are looking for overall rejuvenation without the downtime. Using ultra-short pulses of laser energy, at relatively low settings, we can work at a dermal level to stimulate collagen, even-out skin tone, brighten the complexion and reduce pore size - without the downtime associated with more invasive treatments such as Fractional Laser Resurfacing or targeted pigment removal.

WHAT TO EXPECT
After a thorough double cleanse and exfoliating peel to remove dead skin cells, protective goggles are applied. The Pico laser light is passed over the entire face several times. The treatment will feel warm but not painful and you will hear a gentle zapping noise from the laser. Depending on your skin type and specific needs, you will then receive a targeted face mask, LED light therapy and product application. Your skin may be slightly pink and a little tight for a few hours following the treatment but will look smooth and bright.

PICO LASER MELASMA TREATMENT
LA Perfection is now one of the few clinics in the UK offering the treatment of melasma using Pico laser technology. Pico lasers are able to breakdown melasma pigmentation and help clients to manage this notoriously tricky skin condition, due to the rapid energy delivery. Laser light is delivered to the affected area in pulses 1 trillionth of a second long. This powerful energy treats the pigmented cells without damage to surrounding tissue.

For this treatment to be successful, you will need to use a number of topical products to inhibit melanin production and protect the skin from UV damage which we will prescribe at your consultation.

PICO LASER FRECKLE OR PIGMENT REMOVAL
As well as using Pico technology to rejuvenate the whole face area, it can also be used to target individual pigmented lesions and freckles. The laser wavelength is set to target the colour of the lesion or freckle. The Pico laser delivers light energy which is absorbed by the lesion or freckle casing the pigmented cells to shatter, without damaging the surrounding tissue.

WHAT TO EXPECT
After a thorough double cleanse, protective goggles are applied. The Pico laser is set to target the colour of the pigmented lesion or freckle and passed over the treatment area which will react to the light. This will feel hot but we use cold air to ensure comfort. Over the next week or so, the treated lesion or freckle may go darker and then gently exfoliate away, revealing lighter skin underneath. You must protect the skin from the sun during healing and may need further treatment to further lighten the area.

The treatment will feel warm but not painful and you will hear a gentle zapping noise from the laser. Depending on your skin type and specific needs, you will then receive a targeted face mask, LED light therapy and product application. Your skin will look red afterwards (like a mild sunburn) and may feel sore and a little swollen. This will subside over the next few hours. Over the next few days to a week you may experience some dryness as your skin exfoliates and repairs.
