FUNGAL NAIL LASER TREATMENT

Restore Clear, Healthy Nails with Advanced Laser Technology

At LA Perfection, we offer state-of-the-art fungal nail treatment using our Quanta Duetto Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser — a clinically proven, non-invasive solution for nail fungus (onychomycosis). Unlike topical creams or tablets, which can take months to show limited results, laser therapy penetrates deep into the nail to target the infection at its source, safely and effectively. Treatments are quick, comfortable, and require no downtime — helping you regain confidence in your hands and feet.

WHAT IS A FUNGAL NAIL INFECTION?

Fungal nail infections occur when dermatophytes, yeasts, or moulds invade the nail plate or nail bed. This can cause nails to become discoloured, thickened, brittle, or crumbly, and in some cases, they may lift away from the nail bed.
The condition is common and can develop after nail trauma, exposure to warm, damp environments (such as swimming pools or gyms), or as a result of conditions that affect circulation or immunity. Fungal infections rarely resolve without intervention, and because the fungus lives beneath the nail surface, topical treatments often struggle to reach it effectively.

HOW LASER TREATMENT WORKS

Our Quanta Duetto Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser emits precise pulses of energy that penetrate through the nail plate, heating and destroying the fungal cells without damaging the surrounding tissue or nail structure.

The energy disrupts the fungal cell walls and inhibits their ability to reproduce, helping to clear the infection and promote healthy nail growth over time.

Each session typically lasts around 15–30 minutes, depending on the number of nails treated. Most clients require a course of 4 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart for optimal results. Because toenails grow slowly, visible improvement continues for several months as the healthy nail replaces the infected area.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the treatment hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a gentle warmth or mild tingling. The treatment is very well tolerated, and no anaesthetic or numbing cream is required.

How many treatments will I need?
A course of four sessions, spaced two to four weeks apart, is typically recommended for best results. The exact number may vary depending on the severity of the infection and how many nails are affected.

When will I see results?
You’ll start to notice improvements as the healthy nail grows out. Because toenails grow slowly, full results are usually seen within 6–12 months, once the new nail has completely replaced the old infected one.

Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to your normal activities straight after treatment. It’s important, however, to maintain good foot hygiene and change socks and footwear regularly to avoid reinfection.

Is it safe?
Yes. Laser treatment for fungal nails is clinically proven and FDA-approved. It targets only the infected tissue and does not damage the surrounding skin or nail structure.

Can the infection come back?
Laser treatment significantly reduces fungal spores, but reinfection is possible if proper aftercare isn’t followed. Keeping nails short, clean, and dry, and avoiding shared footwear or nail tools, helps maintain long-term results.
