COSMETIC TATTOOING

Eyebrow & Lip tattooing by master artist Lyndsey Price

Cosmetic tattooing also known as semi-permanent makeup, micro-pigmentation and permanent makeup, is a process by which hypoallergenic specialist pigments are injected into the dermal layer of the skin to give the illusion of makeup. Our highly qualified cosmetic tattooist Lyndsey Price, has trained with renowned global industry experts and has performed thousands of procedures to satisfied customers. Using only the best pigments and equipment, she achieves amazing results that look natural. Treatments include: single hair-stroke eyebrows, ombré powder-brows, highly defined powder-brows, simple lash enhancements, thicker Latino eyeliner, lip-liner and full lip colours. Lyndsey also specialises in removing and correcting unwanted or poor quality semi-permanent makeup.

COSMETIC TATTOOED EYEBROWS

Eyebrows are arguably the most important feature on face. They change your expression, open up your eyes and frame your face. Lyndsey will create bespoke eyebrows to suit your face shape, natural features and style. She uses the machine method (not microblading) to create natural hair strokes, soft shading or a fuller powder brow look. She can also correct and remove unwanted or badly tattooed eyebrows using laser as well as other correction methods.

HAIR-STROKE EYEBROWS

Hair-stroke eyebrows are a type of eyebrow tattoo that creates the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs. Using the latest nano-needles and natural looking pigments, Lyndsey will mimic the look of real eyebrow hairs by drawing fine, individual strokes that resemble the natural growth pattern of eyebrow hair.

This option is perfect for anyone wanting a natural look.

OMBRÉ POWDER EYEBROWS

Ombre Powder Eyebrows is a semi-permanent makeup technique that creates a soft, shaded eyebrow look. Using a machine and precision cut needles, Lyndsey will implant tiny dots of pigment into the skin, gradually building up colour to create a powdery effect which is very soft at the front.

This option is suitable for most skin types, including previously tattooed, problematic or oily skin, and those wanting a soft makeup look.

COMBINATION EYEBROWS

Combi-brows is a style of eyebrow tattoo that combines hair-strokes with shading to create a naturally fuller look. Lyndsey creates this look with the finest pigments and precision cut needles, perfect for those who like the textured look of hair-strokes without seeing the gaps. It can be used to cover or neutralise old permanent makeup.

This option is suitable for most skin types and can be adapted to look soft and natural or full and bold.

£440
POWDER EYEBROWS

A full powder eyebrow is like an ombré powder eyebrow but is more filled in and not as soft or graduated at the front. Colour is layered to build up to the desired effect. It is perfect for difficult skin, oily skin, people with large pores, previously tattooed eyebrows or anyone wanting a full make-up look.

This option is suitable for most skin types.

COSMETIC TATTOOED LIPS

Cosmetic tattooing for lips, also known as lip blushing, is a semi-permanent makeup technique that enhances the natural colour and shape of the lips. Using a specialist tattoo machine, Lyndsey will implant pigments into the upper layers of the skin to create a more defined and fuller appearance. The results can range from subtle colour enhancement to a more vibrant and dramatic look, depending on yourpreference.

LIP BLUSH

Using a specialist tattoo machine and precision cut needles, Lyndsey will create the perfect lip shape and colour for you. After creating the perfect border, colour is gently shaded into the skin and layered to create your desired effect. She can use a colour to mimic your natural lip tone or a more vibrant colour to look like lipstick.

COSMETIC TATTOO CORRECTION & REMOVAL

Cosmetic tattooing is a highly skilled treatment that takes years to master. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of people offering these treatments without adequate training or talent - resulting in poor results. Lyndsey specialises in correcting and removing unwanted cosmetic tattoos using a range of methods. She has one of the most powerful lasers in the country to target most pigment colours, apart from white or very light yellow tones, and can use a manual removal method for those stubborn pigments that don't respond to laser. Depending on the shape and colour, some brows can be corrected without removal or covered with a new brow tattoo, improving the shape and colour.

AFTER LASER REMOVAL AND NEW TATTOO

IMG_4276.jpg

This client had an old brow tattoo that was uneven and had orange and red tones. Lyndsey did a few laser sessions to remove this old pigment and prepare the skin for a new tattoo. This gave Lyndsey a blank canvas to create a more flattering shape, a nicer colour, and crisp, new hair-strokes.

Lyndsey could have covered the old tattoo with a powder brow but she would have had to do a shape big enough to cover the old pigment. The client wouldn't have been able to have these natural looking delicate hair-strokes without having laser first.

This client had an old brow tattoo that was uneven, had turned grey, and was too close together with a harsh square shape at the bulb of the brow. After a few laser sessions to remove this old pigment, Lyndsey was able to create a softer, more flattering shape, giving confidence back to her client.

This shape would have been difficult to cover with a powder brow due to the harsh square fronts. The client wanted a more natural look so removal was the best option for her. This type of old grey/black pigment is easily lightened with laser.

AFTER LASER REMOVAL

This client had an old lip liner tattoo that had turned grey over time. It had been tattooed outside of her natural border and was very difficult for her to cover each day. This picture is after only 1 laser session. This client has regained her confidence and no longer needs to wear lipstick to cover this old tattoo.

Lip pigment can be very difficult to remove due to the variation of colours used within lip pigments. Laser treatment can cause some pigments to turn darker before going lighter so should only be done by an experienced professional.

This client had an old brow tattoo that had faded grey, and wasn't even. She drew on her brows each day and likes them quite full and bold. Lyndsey re-shaped her brows and layered some warmer tones as well as a bolder brown to add depth.

As this client wanted a bolder look, there was no need to remove the old pigment. the old shape and colour were easily covered with a new powder brow.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING LAST?

There are many factors that affect how long a semi-permanent makeup treatment will last. Darker colours will remain visible in your skin for longer than lighter colours. Sun exposure, swimming, smoking, medications, skin rejuvenation creams and each person’s individual rate of skin exfoliation will also affect how long the treatment will last. Most people will need a retouch every 12 to 36 months.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER A COSMETIC TATTOO TREATMENT?

You may experience minor swelling immediately after the treatment but this should subside within 48 hours. For 3-7 days the colour will appear quite dark and exact but then as the healing layers of skin exfoliate, the colour will lighten significantly. During this time the colour can almost disappear but don’t worry this is completely normal. This is due to dead skin cells masking the pigment. After this period (3 to 4 weeks) the colour will reappear and you will see the finished result. If it is still too light then a darker colour can be chosen for your re-touch.

HOW LONG DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING TAKE?

Treatment times vary depending on the procedure, and each person’s individual needs. Most treatments will take around two hours.

DOES COSMETIC TATTOOING HURT?

Numbing creams are used before and during each procedure to minimise discomfort. On a scale of 1-10 most people rate the pain as 0-3 and describe it as a scratching or tingling sensation.

WHAT SHOULD I DO BEFORE AND AFTER COSMETIC TATTOOING?

There is nothing that you need to do before your eyebrow treatment but if you suffer from cold sores, please obtain an oral prescription medicine like Aciclovir. For 3 weeks after you will need to avoid sunbeds, strong sunlight, swimming, saunas, steam baths, very hot showers, certain skin creams and cleansers. You will be provided with aftercare cream that will need to be applied daily.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH COSMETIC TATTOOING?

As with any invasive procedure there are risks to consider before going ahead with a treatment. These include infection, misplaced pigment, allergic reaction, scarring, and undesired result. Health and safety guidelines are followed strictly to minimise these risks.

WHO CAN'T HAVE COSMETIC TATTOOING?

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, taking roaccutane, have a skin condition in the area to be treated, or suffer from an infectious disease then you cannot be treated.
